Want a change in career, but don’t know how to do it?

Fed up in your current job? The first thing to note is; Don’t worry! You’re not alone!

If you find the prospect of changing jobs or a change in career a little daunting, you may want to consider getting help from a professional who will give you focus, boost your self-belief and help you achieve your goals a whole lot faster than working alone. Not everyone looking for a new job or career necessarily needs a coach. But it’s definitely worth a think.

Firstly, are you falling into one of these categories?

  • I’ve been here way too long & I’m bored
  • I feel really undervalued
  • I’m making no progress
  • I’m no longer interested in work
  • I don’t like my manager
  • Restructuring has changed my role

If you fit into one of these, then maybe it’s time to talk to a career coach. Working with a career coach helps you to focus on interests, strengths and skills plus spends time identifying your current circumstances, allowing you to take perspective on ideas and opportunities and make decisions which could enhance your future.

What’s best for you?

Before you can find a new career that suits you, you need to think about what it is you really enjoy doing. What do you love? Think about what you do and don’t enjoy about your current job. Taking all these things into consideration will give you some focus on where your new career should take you. On average you’ll work around 40 to 45 hours a week for 40 years of your life,  so doesn’t it make sense to spend that time doing something you truly love?

For this reason, the first priority in the coaching process is to conduct a skills review and a personal analysis. This helps reconnect people with their skills, strengths and achievements and starts the journey of boosting self- confidence and personal belief.  Once people start believing in their potential they can gain the confidence to begin networking, approaching organisations, making applications and attending interview.

For those people who would benefit from a coach but don’t have the available funds I have developed an online career coaching program which takes you through the process via online videos and workbooks.
